A Day at River Jacks Café with Julia 🐦☕

There are ordinary lunches… and then there are lunches that turn into stories you’ll be laughing about long after the plates are cleared. Our recent visit to River Jacks Café was very much the latter — especially with Julia leading the adventure.

From the moment we arrived, Julia’s excitement was contagious. The river views, the buzz of people enjoying their day, and the promise of a good meal made it clear this wasn’t just another outing. This was an experience. And as Julia later perfectly summed it up:

River Jacks Café is known for its relaxed atmosphere and scenic setting, but apparently, it’s also well-known among the local seagull population. As soon as lunch arrived, so did our unexpected guests. One seagull quickly turned into two… then three… and before we knew it, Julia was dining under very close supervision from above.

Instead of being flustered, Julia took it all in stride — with humour, commentary, and a sparkle of amusement that had everyone smiling. Each flap of wings and curious head tilt from our feathered friends became part of the fun. It wasn’t just a meal anymore; it was live entertainment.

An Artist in Residence 🎨

Between bites and bird-watch duties, Julia revealed another side of her creativity. With the confidence of someone completely in the moment, she declared herself “an artist in residence.” Whether she was referring to the art of enjoying good food, commanding an audience of seagulls, or simply being her wonderfully expressive self, the title fit perfectly.

Julia has a way of turning everyday moments into something memorable. Her observations, quick wit, and ability to find humour in the unexpected remind us that joy often lives in the small, unplanned details.

Julia was especially thrilled to hear that her café adventure would be featured on social media. Knowing her story would be shared made the day even more special. She embraced the spotlight with pride, smiles, and plenty of personality — a true natural in front of the camera.
