A Fun-Filled Day at Day Options: Making Pasties Together

On Tuesday, 15 October, our Day Options program was filled with laughter, music, and the delicious smell of freshly baked pasties as participants came together for a hands-on cooking session.

From the very beginning, everyone was eager to get involved. Participants took part in every step of the process—from rolling out the dough to preparing the fillings—making it a truly interactive and inclusive experience. Each pasty reflected personal choices and creativity, with participants adding their own special touches along the way.

The atmosphere throughout the session was lively and upbeat. Music played in the background, creating a fun and relaxed environment that encouraged movement and joy. Craig couldn’t resist dancing, twisting his hips and singing along to the music, spreading smiles and laughter around the room.

Jeremy took on an important role, carefully brushing the pasties before they went into the oven, with the support of his support worker Bobby. It was wonderful to see the focus, teamwork, and pride that came with being responsible for such a key task.

The fun continued when Nadene and support worker Ash arrived and joined in the dancing alongside Craig and his support worker Eric, adding even more energy and connection to the day.

Once the pasties were baked to golden perfection, there was plenty to enjoy. Participants were able to take some home to share with themselves and their family members, extending the joy of the day beyond the session itself.

Days like these highlight what Day Options is all about—building skills, encouraging independence, fostering social connection, and most importantly, having fun together. It was a fulfilling and memorable session that left everyone smiling.
